Upriver Ecommerce started working with Sashaa World, one the largest exporter of home decor products, to uplift the brand’s revenue on Amazon.in through a mix of operational strategy and innovative marketing.

Initial Situation

  • Registered Stagnant sales for last 6 months
  • No clear understanding of how to grow on Amazon
  • Advertising was mishandled and too much value was left on the table for competitors to pick


  • Scathing negative reviews coming on top of the listing.
  • All inventory being kept in Panipat at own warehouse
  • Multiple products to improve with same generic keywords
  • On some of the best seller products other sellers were latching on the listing.
  • Home decor as a category is not brand led so building brand association is a challenge

Pricing strategy

  • As the products were coming under multiple categories with varying commission structure, we did a detailed cost break up and came up with right pricing with clear margins.
  • On the bestseller we negotiated better fee structure with Amazon

Content Strategy

  • We overhauled the entire listing right from Title, keywords, bullets and description. Greater emphasis was given to better videos
  • Creative overhaul to rightly position the product by using all the available options including A+ content, listing videos, infographics etc.

Sales momentum

  • Upriver studied the sales history in detail and found out that some products which used to give sales got out of stock. We discussed with the client which all skus can be restocked and ensured momentum is not broken.
  • We identified some products and went ahead with very aggressive pricing to drive sales volume and cut competition. Once momentum picked up we gradually increased prices but ensured sales velocity remained the same.

Listing Changes

  • Combine all the variations under 1 parent to combine reviews and create a better customer experience to further drive higher conversion rates.
  • Bundled options were offered to buyers at a discount to increase ASP and margins

FBA & Inventory management

  • As some of the products were bulky and expensive to ship, we charted out which products will be pre-stocked in which region according to sales to save on shipping fee. Multiple FBA registrations was a part of this exercise.
  • We got the client registered on Amazon Cross Dock (IXD) to save on logistics fee
  • Registered and operationalised Seller Flex node on Panipat warehouse to get FBA tag on own inventory for better visibility.


  • Drove Top of search domination strategy across few fast moving products and got bestseller tag.
  • Strategically increased budgets across sponsored products and video ads to improve RoAS and drive profitability
